Intimate Wedding in Seville | My Wedding

I want to make it clear that, to me, a simple wedding has nothing to do with a cheap wedding or one that lacks attention to detail. To me, a simple wedding is one surrounded by people you love, with top-notch professionals, great food and service, good music for your guests to enjoy, and personalized decor… That’s how I see a simple wedding.

My wedding

A simple wedding—that’s what my wedding was like, and that’s why I chose this title for this post. I don’t think I’m your typical wedding planner, because I never imagined I’d get married, although I knew for sure that if I ever did, it would be very simple.

And that’s how ours turned out—a simple wedding where the guests were our close family and our best friends, people who know us and whom we were eager to be surrounded by and share this special day with. Although, because of our life experiences, we had to have nearly half of them travel from all over Spain to be there. Thank you all for making the effort!

We decided to have a winter wedding—I love them—and we set the date for the day after our daughter’s birthday. That way, the two dates would always be connected, but neither would lose its significance.

Since it was a winter wedding, it took place at noon. Personally, I really enjoy being able to experience different lighting throughout a wedding celebration. We’re also big fans of rice dishes, and we knew we wanted a broth-based rice dish, which ended up being a shrimp dish with a base of manzanilla sherry from Sanlúcar, my second home.

Finally, we decided to have our daughter choose a color for the velvet cape the girls were going to wear, a strawberry pink, and on that we created a color palette.

Every decision I made regarding the wedding was deeply emotional, but always balanced by the pragmatism that comes from my work as a wedding planner. That’s why the professionals involved were, for me, the perfect blend of outstanding professionalism and a strong rapport with us. I couldn’t have had professionals at my wedding with whom I didn’t have an amazing connection—people I could talk to about everything in confidence. And that’s exactly how it was.

Do you want to know some fun facts about my wedding?

I’ll tell you that we sent the invitations by regular mail. In this age of digitalization, we thought our guests would enjoy receiving a letter with good news. We loved seeing how the guests wrote to us or sent photos of themselves with the invitation as they received them. It’s a wonderful keepsake!

I also wanted to tell you that, so we could both have some privacy while getting dressed on our wedding day—and so we could both spend time with our daughter and take pictures with her before the ceremony—we rented two suites, one above the other, at Suites Murillo Alcázar. I love them for their views, their spaciousness, and how convenient they are for getting around.

In addition, the night before, those guests who wanted to stopped by the terrace of the suites and had a drink to start taking the pulse of the wedding.

How did I experience it?

Pufff…complicated to explain, a mixture of emotion and coldness, as I am.

A lot of tranquility because I knew that everything was going to be fine, the professionals involved left no doubt that everything would be perfect and everything was planned to the last detail. My only concern was how our little girl was going to experience it. The rest I knew was going to be perfect. Maybe the hardest part was to combine being a bride and being a mom, but if you are interested I will tell you about that another time…

Did I have wedding planner tips? Of course!
