Cristina & Jose

I want to clarify that a simple wedding for me has nothing to do with a cheap wedding or without details. A simple wedding for me is a wedding surrounded by people you love, having quality professionals, offering quality food and service, good music for your guests to enjoy and personalized decoration? That’s how I understand a simple wedding.

My wedding

A simple wedding, that’s how my wedding was and that’s how I wanted to title this post. I think I’m not a wedding planner to use, because I had never imagined that I would get married, although it was clear to me that if I ever did it would be very simple.

And so was ours, a simple wedding where the guests were our close families and our best friends, people who know us and with whom we were looking forward to be surrounded and enjoy a special day. Although almost half of them had to come from different parts of Spain due to our life experiences. Thank you all for the effort!

We decided to make it a winter wedding, I love them and the date coincided with the day after our daughter’s birthday. Thus both dates would always be related, but neither would lose their importance.

As it was a winter wedding it was at noon. I personally love being able to enjoy different lights during a wedding celebration. We are also passionate about rice dishes and it was clear that we wanted a rice broth, which ended up being with prawns with a base of manzanilla de Sanlúcar, my second homeland.

Finally, we decided to have our daughter choose a color for the velvet cape the girls were going to wear, a strawberry pink, and on that we created a color palette.

All the decisions I made regarding the wedding had a very high emotional point, but always in balance with the pragmatism that gives me to be a wedding planner. That’s why the professionals who intervened were for me the perfect mix between excellent professionalism and a lot of complicity with us. I couldn’t have professionals at my wedding with whom I didn’t have a brutal feeling to be able to talk about everything in confidence. And so it was.

Do you want to know the little curiosities of my wedding?

I will tell you that we send the invitations by postal mail. In this age of digitalization, we thought our guests would like to receive a letter with good news. We were delighted to see how the guests wrote to us or sent us photos of themselves with the invitation as they received them. It’s a precious souvenir!

We also decided that in order for both of us to have privacy to get dressed on our wedding day and also to be able to enjoy our daughter and take pictures with her before the wedding, we rented 2 suites, one on top of the other, from Suites Murillo Alcazar. I love them for their views, their spaciousness, and for their comfort when moving around.

In addition, the night before, those guests who wanted to stopped by the terrace of the suites and had a drink to start taking the pulse of the wedding.

How did I experience it?

Pufff…complicated to explain, a mixture of emotion and coldness, as I am.

A lot of tranquility because I knew that everything was going to be fine, the professionals involved left no doubt that everything would be perfect and everything was planned to the last detail. My only concern was how our little girl was going to experience it. The rest I knew was going to be perfect. Maybe the hardest part was to combine being a bride and being a mom, but if you are interested I will tell you about that another time…

Did I have wedding planner tips? Of course!
