Those who follow me know that I love destination weddings, and if it is an intimate wedding, even more. So when Tracy and Damian contacted me and told me that they wanted a place with charm, authentic, but also that their guests could spend several days staying there, I went crazy with happiness.
Although they live in Gibraltar, and know more about our land, the rest of the guests would come from the USA and Poland and they wanted it to be the most complete experience possible: gastronomic routes, tourism, flamenco, golf… And so we did.
A complete destination wedding!
We started looking around and their ideal place to get married was the Parador de Carmona. With a spectacular setting and good gastronomy, only certain details needed to be fine-tuned.
For example, they didn’t want the typical rows of chairs for the civil ceremony, so we decided to leave the same furniture as in the ceremony hall at the Parador. And to make it more cozy, we placed photo frames of them with the guests so they knew where they had to sit. During the flamenco and classic cocktail for the ceremony.
Another detail was that the open bar room was very cold, so we turned it into a warmer room thanks to indirect spotlights and light curtains.
Add to that good music, details and customs typical of Damian’s country and you have a great wedding. And it becomes sublime if everyone wants to have a really great time.
What do you want to know what are the typical Polish wedding customs? I’ll tell you about them:
When the couple arrives at the venue after the ceremony all the guests are waiting. No one enters until they do. They are welcomed with bread and salt by the parents, which they have to eat before entering. This is an ancient tradition that symbolizes not only wishes for prosperity, but also the welcoming of a new family member. But now it’s the cool part!
Next, the bride and groom each randomly choose a glass to drink from. One contains water and the other vodka. The person who drinks the vodka will rule in the relationship.
〰️What do you think of the custom?〰️
I loved it! I pass you the images
