You know when you meet someone and you know they will be in your life forever? That happened to me a few years ago with Leticia. Although for some time she has been living for work in Bilbao where she met Iker, who is just as ideal and affectionate as she is. All in all they are a wonderful couple, whom I adore.
In November they came to Seville to surprise family and friends: “We are getting married! And we would like to get married on February 4th”. So that same day we got down to work, we only had 3 months to prepare for their wedding.
A wedding for celiacs
When we started to organize their wedding we had two very important premises in mind. On the one hand, Leticia’s celiac disease, which worried Iker and his family a lot. They didn’t want to be worried on her wedding day about what she could eat or have a menu prepared just for her… Leticia wanted to be able to enjoy her wedding 100%. So Catering Campuzano, which was the caterer that served the wedding, was asked to prepare a wedding menu for celiacs.
A wedding in Seville to win the hearts of the Basques
On the other hand, choosing a church and a charming celebration space that would surprise the guests. The great majority of the guests came from outside of Seville and the choice of the church was Santa María La Blanca, built on the site of the old 13th century Jewish synagogue and located in the Santa Cruz neighborhood. For the celebration, the wonderful Hacienda Los Molinillos, a typical 18th century olive plantation.
On those pillars, we organized a beautiful wedding full of special moments, romantic and with nods to both Bilbao and Seville. What I am most grateful for is the trust they placed in me. So it was very easy to help them organize their wedding.
The day of the wedding Leticia got ready at her parents’ house, she wanted to be quiet with them and her 2 best friends. From his home in Triana he went to church in a beautiful 1957 Citröen 11.
For Iker, we think something completely different. We chose apartments in Barrio Santa Cruz, 2 minutes from the church. The idea is for him to walk with his mother to the church with family and friends.
Friends and family members who spoke during the mass added a touching touch to the religious ceremony. The church is beautiful completely decorated with paniculatas, thanks to Melero Florista and it was stunning. They are friends of the family and were in charge of the bridal bouquet, the floral decoration of the church and the hacienda.
Molinillos Farm
Already at Hacienda Molinillos, with the entrance decorated at ground level with baskets made with immortelle, false pepper, olive, mastic, mimosa and paniculata, the celebration began with the Aurresku of Honor at the entrance of the bride and groom while the cocktail began to be served. Everything took place under the arcade of the hacienda’s patio because of the rain that accompanied us most of the wedding.
I always like to set up two photocalls, one for the cocktail party and another one during the open bar. In this case the cocktail was more romantic, a photocall made with 400 natural carnations in pink tones.
After appetizers we went to the beautiful hall of Los Molinillos for lunch. The entire menu, which was completely adapted for celiacs, was fabulous.
The open bar began in the late afternoon with “Si te vas” by Extrema Duro. The company Elegancia Eventos adapted the song to the dance that the bride and groom had prepared to surprise their guests. They provided the ambiance for the entire wedding. They knew how to give each situation the appropriate soundtrack and chose the songs for the special moments very well.
The open bar that lasted well into the night was filled with good music and dancing. Also of fun pictures in the fair booth that we set up as a second photocall. The name of the stand was designed to make the Basque guests feel identified, “La Caseta de la Cuadrilla”.
